Petal Picking: I love my job, not so much, I love my job, not so much...

This blog is meant to be an account of the daily events of my college internship and a floriculture educational tool. And as much as I want this to focus on the floral industry and the advantages of real world work experience that are offered through participating in an internship, I have a feeling it might become a slightly comical view into my personal life as a tree huggin', plant lovin', flower pickin', dirt diggin' horticulturist... I'll let you be the judge.

Week of April 10th - Designer Daisy

Time to restock and replenish the shelves!  We got cleared out from the open house... that lasted two weeks.  So time to turn on the hot glue gun, heat up the glue pot, get the heat gun red hot, wield the wire cutters and floral knife, and lastly, give up on my manicure, because after this week, my nails and hands are going to be WRECKED!  But I love it!
We also had a few more shipments of stock come in, so I have to become one of Charlie's Angels again and make my price gun smoke.
Here are some photos of what I made this week.

I am a swag making pro now... Mary and I had a little competition -  who could make more pieces in 6 hours.  I made 12, she made 14.  I am improving, if we had done this when I first started I would have made, oooooh, about 6.

This was a nice surprise on my design desk Tuesday morning - from Steph.
They are a variety of rose called 'Cinnamon'
